“A recipe has no soul. You, as the cook, must bring soul to the recipe.” – Thomas Keller
Welcome to my little vegan food blog!
I’ve wanted to start a food blog (shouldn’t it be called a “flog”? Is that too controversial?) for many years, and I decided to stop procrastinating, stop waiting for the perfect timing, the right moon cycle, or until I have “enough” recipes, and just start it already.
So here we are.
I hope these recipes please you and satisfy your palate, whether you’re a long-time vegan or a newbie.
There’s no particular rhyme or reason to the recipes.
I’ve either invented them myself or have tweaked found recipes thoroughly enough that they’ve become my own.
I get inspiration from many sources. Much credit should be given to my mom, my brother and my Greek grandmother (as well as the movie Ratatouille!) for instilling in me a profound love of good food, and an even more profound love of making good food while doing as little harm as possible to the planet and its beautiful inhabitants – our animal kin.
I have enormous gratitude for vegans who came before and pioneered such deliciously sumptuous recipes as to inspire me to carry on my own vegan food legacy, as it were:
High Carb Hannah, Brandi Doming (The Vegan 8) Mic the Vegan, Forks Over Knives, Drs. John McDougall, Caldwell Esselstyn – as well as many others – for showing me the way to true nutrition and health.
May your glass be always filled, your plate be always abundant with nourishment, and your heart be always grateful and compassionate.
Love,
Emily
